Mechanism of Action

Monoclonal antibody targeting thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), upstream of multiple inflammatory pathways.

Pre-treatment / Baseline Requirement

Confirm severe asthma phenotype and inadequate control; screen for hypersensitivity history; treat helminth infection when applicable; vaccination review.

Common side effects

Pharyngitis, arthralgia, back pain, nasopharyngitis; injection-site reactions.

Serious adverse effects / key risks

Hypersensitivity reactions (can be delayed).

Clinical notes

Patients will have reduced opioid analgesic response while on naltrexone; emergency analgesia planning is important.

How it works

Monoclonal antibody targeting thymic stromal lymphopoietin, upstream of multiple inflammatory pathways.

Before treatment

Tell your clinician if you have an active infection/fever, are pregnant/planning pregnancy, or have major heart/nerve problems. Depending on the medication, you may need labs or screening tests (e.g., TB/hepatitis) and a vaccine review.

Common side effects

Pharyngitis, arthralgia, back pain, nasopharyngitis; injection-site reactions.

Get urgent help for:

Hypersensitivity reactions.

On treatment Day:

Plan to stay for monitoring. If you feel dizzy, drowsy, or unwell afterward, do not drive and follow your clinician’s instructions.
